My Walmart in Aberdeen, WA is in the middle of the transition between a regular store and a supercenter. In my opinion they started backwards by expanding the garden section and stuff, but slowly working on the food section. Anyway I found some stock-up items, which means that the items were cheap enough that I bought multiples.
I am working on a Stock-up price sheet, which gives me a type of average of prices, sale cycles on items, and the best price (stock-up time). I have researched many of these price sheets but they usually have something funky with them. One may have good price ideas on canned goods, but the meat is too high. Another one has the produce too cheap, like it was based on prices from 1970. So I will pass some of this realistic view of prices on as I work on it.
Today, at Walmart I found some items that I stocked up on:
Eggo Waffles 10 count priced at $2.00. With coupon $1 off 2 the price equals $1.50. This is a great breakfast-on-the-go for teens running out the door in the morning. I picked up only four boxes because of limited freezer space. So my price point for waffles is $1.50 or less.
Welches Grape Jelly large jar priced at $1.78. With coupon $1 off 2 the price equals $1.28. Stock-up price would be $1.28 or less for the large jar. I picked up four grape and two strawberry jars.
Rayvac batteries 4 pack priced at 97¢. With $1 off 1 coupon, the price equals FREE. Definitely a stock-up price. Free is always good.
VO5 shampoo or conditioner priced at 84¢. With coupon 50¢ off 2 the price is 59¢. Time to grab multiples.
Tabasco Hot Sauce small bottle priced at $1. 34. With coupon 50¢ off 1 the price drops to 84¢. I picked up four since that is the amount of coupons I had.
Store brand sliced beets priced at 68¢. Beets under 70¢ is a good buy in my area.
Hershey's chocolate snack bars 6 pk priced at $1.00. With coupon $1 off 2 the price is 50¢ each. All eight of my packages are in the freezer hidden away from kids. There is even dark chocolate and almond varieties.
Haribo gummy bears 6 oz pack priced at 98¢. With coupon 30¢ off 1 the price is 68¢. This coupon is usually found once a month on the coupons.com site.
Van de Camp pork and beans 15 oz are priced at 50¢ each. Good deal even without coupons.
BIC sensitive desposible razors 12 pack priced at $2.82. With coupon $3 off 1 the price is.... FREE. So I picked up 36 free razors.
There are 2 liter bottles of store brand soda for 84¢ each. I try to not pay more than 99¢ for 2 liters. In my house, a 2 liter lasts about 15 minutes.
So these are few items that I was able to stock-up on.
